Showcasing the best vs the best!

Well done to our U15/16’s group who came out victorious at The Hyde League pre season tournament over the weekend with some incredible football on display beating Crystal Palace FC in the final.

Goal scorers throughout the tournament; Paul 3, Ephraim 1, Omar 1.
Player of the tournament; Abz/Varney.

The Hyde League acts as a development league for pro clubs who are able to put there trialists and development groups in a high standard league which allows academy staff to assess the players during games.

U16’s making progress!

Good luck to our Yaya Toure type centre midfielder from our U16’s group who has started a six week trial with Reading FC and there academy, some really good performances over the last year and stand out player in several games including against Brentford Academy.

All at our club are hoping and wishing for good news in few weeks time!

WTFC / CTFC Academy.

Cheltenham Town FC U15/16 3-5 Wandsworth Town Youth FC U15/16

Man of the Match; Omar/Abioseh.
Goalscorers; Abioseh 2, Konyeme 1, Anthony 1, Ibrahim 1.

Well done to our U15/16’s group who travelled away from there comfort zone and took on a very good cat.3 side in Cheltenham Town FC over the weekend. With only two players who have been part of our academy showcase side in the past, the game was a great opportunity for those yet to play against a professional side and the game proved the be a great learning experience bringing out a strong team performance.

Football brings different nations together!

Over the last weekend we played our first international game of the summer period where our U15/16’s group including a few trialists for the new season took on a strong and well-structured U18’s side from the United States of America.

It was an interesting encounter with both sides playing at a really high standard, our side was really unlucky in the final third with there shot stopper proving to be the best player on the pitch and was busy on several occasions.

The game was a great experience for our boys playing against a different style, different culture, older boys and also against players who they don’t always get the opportunity to do so.

We’d like to thank our opponents from Kansas City for the game and hope they enjoy their tour and stay in the UK!
